The test instruments manufacturer Socket & See Ltd, part of electrician's tools manufacturer, the Kew Technik Group of Companies, has introduced the 2006 version of its A5 catalogue.
Illustrated in full colour throughout, this free 56 page catalogue covers the complete range of Socket & See test instruments, clearly explained in a concise format and including many new products that meet all relevant standards including Part P.
Part P Test Kit
The catalogue includes the recently introduced Socket &
See Kit Saver, Multifunction Test Kit that includes three
great test instruments - an Insulation/Continuity tester, a
Loop tester and an RCD tester, all being ideal for testing
to Part P. Also included in the kit are test leads, minor
works certificates, the necessary connectors, instruction
manuals, 12 batteries, and even a pen. The complete kit
which offers an excellent saving on buying the items
individually, comes in a strong robust bag.
A Clever Socket Adaptor
Also highlighted in the catalogue is the SS 130 Socket
Adaptor, which offers an extremely cost effective, problem
and time saving way of testing insulation or continuity, at
a socket outlet. No more damage to decorations or breaking
connections, just plug in the SS 130, then plug the leads
from your digital insulation/continuity tester into the
adaptor, and you are ready to go.
ITLS 400 Test Lead System
The catalogue also offers a big step forward in the safety
of fused test leads. This new version of GS 38 leads, the
ITLS 400 Test Lead System, is competitively priced, safer,
easier to use, conforms to CAT III, and offers a number of
benefits over other leads.
With old style leads, when changing from a crocodile clip to a probe connection and vice-versa, the engineer, having unscrewed the connector can easily be frustrated when he finds that the fuse is exposed and can easily fall out. With the new test leads it is impossible for this to happen, as the connection is a simple and fast, push fit. The only time that the fuse becomes exposed is if it requires a change.
When a test requiring connection of say, neutral and earth crocodile clips together, clipping one to the other can be difficult when so often there is minimum space, and good connection can be tricky. The new ITLS 400 leads come with a piggy- back connection on the earth lead allowing the neutral probe to simply push fit thus ensuring a good, safe connection. The leads are coloured to the relevant standards- brown for live and blue for neutral, with a useful memory aid showing the old colours (red and Black), on the strain relief.
